Category 0 has been issued because we expect excessive rainfalls in the northeastern part of Hungary at some places from moderate storm clusters (organized by the occluded front). Non-mesocyclonic funnels (maybe tornadoes) can form along the convergence of the front.

Supercells can only marginally form due to some inhibitive conditions (though large deep layer shear and significant SRH would support stronger low level mesocyclones!). The present convective situation is very uncertain!

The main threat is wind gust reaching or slightly exceeding 90 km/h in mesoscale convective systems (or maybe in isolated supercells). There is a slight chance of large hailstones (around 2 cm) in isolated supercells. Flash flood or excessive rainfall can be produced in mesoscale systems. Mesocylonic tornados cannot be ruled out (their probability is low, however). The number of severe weather events is expected to be low.

We issued Category 1, mainly because of the possibilitly of excessive rainfall (locally >40 mm) and flash floods on the eastern part of the country. One or two isolated supercell cannot be ruled out with hail (diameter: around 2 cm) and sever windgusts (~ 90 km/h). In the night hours MCS developement is possible in the aforementioned areas.
